Lines

Everywhere I look, I see lines. Lines to make our living room look fun and creative.
For example, we don’t need Christmas trees anymore, we just tape our lights on the wall presented as a tree.
Or just black tape holding pictures, who need a frame?
There are many ideas to spice up your room. I like it!

But now, I also see it happening with our food, our bikes, toilet paper and many more stuff.
Everywhere I look I see some kind of minimalizing ..

What does this mean?
I think we have had enough off our world today, we want to live our lives less complicated.
We want fun and creativity but also the truth. These product looks very open and honest to me
and I think we are searching for those things. Therefor this ‘hype’ with the lines isn’t over yet ..

Reality

A few weeks ago I saw this inspiring movie from the last runway show of Rick Owens.
For his last collection, Rick Owens uses female models, which we are not used to see on a runway. These women are real, with curves.

Not only their bodies are real.
Their facial expressions show me strength, they dance, they clap, they are alive!

It looks like these women are going to take over the world.

The reason why I remembered this show was the new cover of GQ Australian, introducing the local and beautiful plus size model Robyn Lawley.

“I’ve got big hips and a big body. I’m double, triple the size of other models – and I embrace that, I own it,”

I truly believe that within a couple of years, more and more models become ‘plus size’.
We don’t have to starve ourselves anymore, because a body like Barbie isn’t our norm anymore.
Maybe we want the whole wide world to be true? No more Photoshop, no more women who spend their whole day in the gym, no more lies.
We want to see real women, with a body similar to ours.

Christopher Walken makes it cool

Finally. A campaign starring my favorite actor, Christopher Walken.
Christopher Walken appeared in more than 100 movies, but no campaign films.
For JACK&JONES he made an exception ..

This new campaign film called ‘Made from Cool’ is custome-made for the actor.

‘Christopher Walken represents style rather than fashion, and his acting performances are first class craft.’ Winnie Andersen, head designer of Premium.

Premium, a sub brand of JACK & JONES, has grown bigger, makes high quality clothing and uses original workmanships. Still, not many people know this sub brand, that’s the reason ‘Made from cool’ was released.

I think the campaign is truly inspiring. Not only Christopher Walken takes this campaign to a whole new level with his acting skills, I think the message he sends is truly something we should all be aware off.
There are more campaign movies but I think this is my favorite.

We should all learn that the fast fashion industry is killing brands like these. Brands who work with real materials and people who make more money than less than the minimum. We all go shopping and when we see a shirt for 4.95 we think, well we can’t argue about that. But we should do!! A shirt costing less than 25/30 euro’s isn’t right!
There are more and more ideas about clothing and how to make the industry more fair.
But is there really a solution?
You can’t make a difference on your own.
